What kind of Stretch Marks and Scars can it treat?

To be eligible for treatment, we require that the scars or stretch marks in question are lighter than the overall skin tone and not raised. They should be fully healed, typically aged 2 years or more. If the marks are red, this indicates ongoing healing and MCA needling sessions may be necessary before pigment insertion. Depending on individual needs, 2-3 MCA needling sessions may be recommended prior to pigment insertion.

Does it hurt?

While the sensation of needle penetration may cause minor discomfort, many clients liken it to a gentle, scratchy sensation similar to microneedling. We do not recommend numbing creams, as they may affect the pigments. Paracetamol can be taken prior to treatment, but aspirin is not advised, as it may thin the blood and cause clotting at the treatment site.

What is MCA needling?

MCA (Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation) is a healing treatment similar to medical camouflage but without pigments. It promotes scar or stretch mark healing, particularly if they are not fully healed or slightly dip below the surrounding skin. Sometimes, MCA needling is all that's needed, while other times it precedes pigment insertion.

Will I need a patch test for the Dubai stretch mark camouflage treatment?

Yes. You can have a patch test during your consultation. Alternatively, we can post the patch test out to you.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

Absolutely. We cater to Fitzpatrick skin types 1-6, although achieving a colour match may be more challenging for very pale skin. Individuals prone to keloid scarring may not be ideal candidates. For darker skin types or those with hyperpigmentation tendencies, there's a risk of prolonged darkness post-healing. A colour match test helps gauge the healing process.

How long do the results from the stretch mark camouflage treatment in Dubai last?

This procedure is considered permanent. However, due to pigment dilution for skin tone matching, results typically last 3-7 years on average. Pigment fading varies based on individual factors such as immune system, sun exposure, aftercare adherence, and general healing.
